The crowd rose to their feet as Baica's Iosif Bitang slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cornel Bitanu. That made the score 1-0 after 21 minutes of play. In the 25th minute, Baica's Victor Florea seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Victor Florea the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Baica protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Victor Florea had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 24th minute of the game. One of Baica:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ghirdoveni UFC:s goal. Iosif Bitang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Cornel Bitanu made a huge save. Iosif Bitang came free with the goalkeeper in the 36th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Cornel Bitanu could save by the left post. In the 37th minute, Constantin Văcăroiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Baica's Adrian Ivan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Constantin Văcăroiu in the 40th minute of play. Adrian Ivan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilian Postelnicescu in the 41st minute of the match. 43 minutes into the match, Baica's goal looked a bit too open when Ionel Bujor came free, but Adrian Ivan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iosif Bitang received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cornel Bitanu came out and tried to block the shot, but Iosif Bitang slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 45th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iosif Bitang stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Adrian Ivan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gigi Bărbătescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornel Bitanu having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ghirdoveni UFC's zone, Gigi Bărbătescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cornel Bitanu came out of the goal and Gigi Bărbătescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 93 minutes into the match, Iosif Bitang had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cornel Bitanu. Ghirdoveni UFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Iosif Bitang was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2.
