Zilistea FC's Niculae Gheorghe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Zilistea FC from getting a goal against them. 21 minutes into the match, Ghirdoveni UFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ioan Geangu came free, but Cornel Bitanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 21 played minutes Ghirdoveni UFC got a freekick which was hit by Emilian Postelnicescu. Constantin Văcăroiu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Niculae Gheorghe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Zilistea FC's goal looked a bit too open when Constantin Văcăroiu came free, but Niculae Gheorghe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute, Ioan Geangu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cornel Bitanu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. When Lucian Giugiuc fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zilistea FC's protests and gave Lucian Giugiuc a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ghirdoveni UFC booed when Zilistea FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucian Giugiuc didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Ioan Geangu made the kick off in the second half. Constantin Văcăroiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Horia Măgurean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Niculae Gheorghe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ghirdoveni UFC's Cornel Bitanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ioan Geangu in the 76th minute of play. The supporters of Ghirdoveni UFC booed when Zilistea FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Frântu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Ghirdoveni UFC's Constantin Văcăroiu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Niculae Gheorghe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
