Pompiliu Angheluș made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gheorghe Crușeveanu in the 20th minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Vlad Manciulescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 30 minutes, Eugen Unchiaşu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rapid Bucuresti and the Ciocarlesti players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Ciocarlesti booed when Rapid Bucuresti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugen Unchiaşu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pompiliu Angheluș showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from George Bănățeanu in the 70th minute of the match. After 72 minutes Ciocarlesti's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Niculae Mohora who took care of the corner kick. Laurențiu Jecu was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Rareș Cândroveanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Petre Cumpanașu got free with Cosmin Pădureanu in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Rareș Cândroveanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute, Șerban Piersic fired a really elegant long shot, but Cosmin Pădureanu threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. With a little luck, Rapid Bucuresti's Cosmin Pădureanu got control of the ball when Liviu Pârcălab tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rareș Cândroveanu was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 93rd minute. Ciocarlesti's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 94 minutes into the game, Vlad Manciulescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rapid Bucuresti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ciocarlesti the free kick. A collision led to Rapid Bucuresti getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Vlad Manciulescu hit a great ball. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rapid Bucuresti's goalkeeper Cosmin Pădureanu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ciocarlesti had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
