Doru Merișor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aristide Robu having to interfere. Codruț Chiriacescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Silviu Minteuan hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Andrei Vâlcu kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. In the 49th minute of the match Dumitru Tilea shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cornel Doicaru showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Doru Merișor was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Doru Merișor managed to get in a good position for a shot. AC Sebes Eagles's supporters rose to their feet, but Doru Merișor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aristide Robu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ionuț Baicu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ionuț Baicu in the 66th minute of play forced AC Sebes Eagles's goalkeeper Cornel Doicaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ionuț Baicu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the match, Doru Merișor dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Aristide Robu, 3-1. After having played for 90 minutes, Doru Merișor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AC Sebes Eagles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Doru Merișor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in AC Sebes Eagles's zone, Lucian Mitu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cornel Doicaru came out of the goal and Lucian Mitu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 96th minute, Doru Merișor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
