After 6 played minutes FC Tg-Mureș got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Paulică. Codruț Gherghe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mugur Neaga went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 16th match minute, FC Tg-Mureș was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mugur Neaga to maneuver through the defense. Ovidiu Oblemenco acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 17th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Iacob Panciu. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edgar Pivniceru in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ovidiu Oblemenco saved FC Tg-Mureș from getting behind. In the 26th minute, FCSA's Iacob Panciu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ovidiu Oblemenco. Ovidiu Oblemenco yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. After 29 minutes of play, FC Tg-Mureș's Maxim Filip made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Codruț Gherghe was left in no man's land by his defense there! FCSA's Codruț Gherghe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Paulică in the 32nd minute of play. Codruț Gherghe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Paulică in the 38th minute of play. Moise Sichitiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Ovidiu Oblemenco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iacob Panciu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ovidiu Oblemenco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. In the 46th minute, Iacob Panciu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to FC Tg-Mureș getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Mugur Neaga hit a great ball. Ovidiu Oblemenco was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Edgar Pivniceru showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-2 in the 48 minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Iacob Panciu to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Ivan Paulică dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Codruț Gherghe, 3-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Augustin Turcan got free with Codruț Gherghe in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 62ndth minute of the game Ştefan Hapaina who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Tg-Mureș's Ovidiu Oblemenco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Stelian Aldulescu hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Codruț Gherghe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan Paulică, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matei Maghear got a throw-in 71 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Mugur Neaga. 74 minutes into the game, one of FCSA:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When FCSA's Edgar Pivniceru in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Tg-Mureș's goalie prevented a goal. Codruț Gherghe made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Augustin Turcan sent off a good shot on target. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Paulică couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, FCSA's Codruț Gherghe got control of the ball when Augustin Turcan tried to sneak it across the goal line. 98 minutes into the match, Ivan Paulică had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Codruț Gherghe. FCSA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ivan Paulică was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-5. FCSA's Codruț Gherghe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maxim Filip in the 101st minute of play. The FCSA supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FC Tg-Mureș's performance. The match ended with a win for FC Tg-Mureș.
