Spectators: 7495 (Terracing: 5622, Seating: 1724, VIP seats: 149) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ivan Paulică kicked off to start the match. 4 minutes into the match, FC Tg-Mureș's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Stafie came free, but Ovidiu Oblemenco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emil Tăcutu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Paulică in the 6th minute of the match. Alex Stafie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ovidiu Oblemenco having to interfere. FC Tg-Mureș's Ovidiu Oblemenco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Stafie in the 21st minute of play. Alex Stafie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ovidiu Oblemenco having to interfere. If Ivan Paulică had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Viorel Cernescu charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Viorel Cernescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Zont getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Viorel Cernescu hit a great ball. FC Tg-Mureș's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dumitru Penciulescu in the 33rd minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Zont's goalie and right to Eugen Torouţ. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Zont's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Alex Stafie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Tg-Mureș's Dumitru Penciulescu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Emil Tăcutu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Alex Stafie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Costică Ţipirig blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ovidiu Oblemenco having to make a save. Emil Tăcutu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Paulică in the 57th minute of play. Emil Tăcutu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augustin Turcan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 60 minutes into the match, FC Tg-Mureș's goalkeeper Ovidiu Oblemenco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lucrețiu Marian. Alex Stafie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Ovidiu Oblemenco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Zont's Alex Stafie in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Tg-Mureș's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to FC Tg-Mureș getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Iulian Fărcășan hit a great ball. If Alex Stafie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ivan Paulică's late challenge caught a Zont's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ivan Paulică helped the player get up and apologised. After 74 played minutes FC Tg-Mureș got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Paulică. In the 75th match minute, FC Tg-Mureș was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doru Andronic to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Zont's Eliodor Mitescu tried to score from far away in the 76th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 82 minutes into the match, Zont's Alex Stafie sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ovidiu Oblemenco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 83 minutes into the match, Ivan Paulică notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Zont's Emil Tăcutu. Emil Tăcutu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Zont's zone, Augustin Turcan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emil Tăcutu came out of the goal and Augustin Turcan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Paulică in the 94th minute of play forced Zont's goalkeeper Emil Tăcutu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
