But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martin Nisipeanu couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Francisc Micescu put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Robert Murgan. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Striharet fans cheered their team off the field, for while Children of God had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
