When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cristinel Chimeț made a kick off. After 56 minutes, Manuel Bărbătescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The referee showed Horaţiu Pătrașcu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The AC MILAN supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing AC MILAN would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
