In the 3rd minute, Moise Bălace got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Moise Bălace had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sandu Tadici's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 16thth minute, Anton Cerghizan skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Nichifor Chifu hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Anton Cerghizan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Moise Bălace's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. In the 34th match minute, Varati FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrei Moșanu to maneuver through the defense. Filip Godeanu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 35th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sandu Tadici in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anton Cerghizan saved AC MILAN from getting behind. Anton Cerghizan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moise Bălace in the 44th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moise Bălace in the 47th minute of play forced AC MILAN's goalkeeper Anton Cerghizan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The attack was good, but when Moise Bălace in the 48th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ionică Cosariu was the one to do the kick off. After 54 played minutes AC MILAN got a freekick which was hit by Irinel Uncu. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Moise Bălace managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varati FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Moise Bălace was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anton Cerghizan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Moise Bălace got free in front of the goal in the 67th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Anton Cerghizan was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Ionică Cosariu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77thth minute of the game Moise Bălace who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AC MILAN's Anton Cerghizan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 78th play minutes Sandu Tadici shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Anton Cerghizan and just under the crossbar into goal. When Moise Bălace came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Varati FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moise Bălace couldn't finish the play. Sandu Tadici sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Moise Bălace received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Anton Cerghizan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Ionică Cosariu managed to get in a good position for a shot. AC MILAN's supporters rose to their feet, but Ionică Cosariu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marin Minulescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anton Cerghizan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandu Tadici in the 97th minute of the match.
