Spectators: 7493 (Terracing: 5621, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) Borussia Dortmund's Corneliu Zbârlea started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Marcel Giurcă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fabian Floroiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Basarab Costăchescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Virgil Reznic during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Virgil Reznic kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 19th minute of the match Leontin Marinică shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valentin Luican showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Valentin Luican made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Costel Şerban sent off a good shot on target. Costel Şerban blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Valentin Luican having to make a save. Valentin Luican showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Corneliu Zbârlea in the 26th minute of the match. A collision led to Borussia Dortmund getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Basarab Costăchescu hit a great ball. Eugen Răduțu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Floroiu in the 30th minute of play. If Costel Şerban had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vintilă Racoviceanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Eugen Răduțu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Borussia Dortmund's Basarab Costăchescu got a free kick in the 39th minute. Rasa were awarded a corner in the 42th minute after Borussia Dortmund's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Liviu Dobrițoiu took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Marcel Giurcă managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Fabian Floroiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rasa's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabian Floroiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eugen Răduțu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Corneliu Zbârlea in the 49th minute of play forced Rasa's goalkeeper Valentin Luican to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Laurențiu Nicolau made the kick off in the second half. Rasa's Fabian Floroiu got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 56th minute, Corneliu Zbârlea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valentin Luican was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Fabian Floroiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 64 minutes into the match, Laurențiu Nicolau dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Eugen Răduțu, 1-1. Costel Şerban recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valentin Luican took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Luțu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th match minute, Rasa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vintilă Racoviceanu to maneuver through the defense. Rasa's Valentin Luican played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Corneliu Zbârlea in the 84th minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's goalkeeper Eugen Răduțu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabian Floroiu. Laurențiu Nicolau received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Eugen Răduțu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Laurențiu Nicolau came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Rasa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laurențiu Nicolau couldn't finish the play. Rasa were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
