Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Horia Filipașcu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mugurel Ionescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Horia Filipașcu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Valeriu Huțanu came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the FC Revarsarea Sulina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valeriu Huțanu couldn't finish the play. Costică Udurbac showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mihai Bălțăteanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. The supporters of Republica Ploiești booed when FC Revarsarea Sulina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusebiu Tătăruşanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mugurel Ionescu in the 14th minute of play forced Republica Ploiești's goalkeeper Horia Filipașcu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ovidiu Jucan fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Republica Ploiești's protests and gave Ovidiu Jucan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 14th minute, Ovidiu Jucan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Republica Ploiești's Horia Filipașcu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mugurel Ionescu in the 25th minute of play. Costică Udurbac took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandru Găină, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mugurel Ionescu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Horia Filipașcu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 39th minute Mugurel Ionescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horia Filipașcu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 47 minutes of play Republica Ploiești's Ovidiu Jucan was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mugurel Ionescu to strike the kick off in the second half. The throw-in from Eduard Tuleiu in the 69th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by FC Revarsarea Sulina's Olimpiu Bitănescu. After 71 minutes, Costică Alb mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Revarsarea Sulina and the Republica Ploiești players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to FC Revarsarea Sulina getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Costică Alb hit a great ball. Gigi Miclescu struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Horia Filipașcu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Revarsarea Sulina. Eliodor Honcioiu struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. FC Revarsarea Sulina's Gigi Miclescu got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eusebiu Tătăruşanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Revarsarea Sulina were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Republica Ploiești for a fine match.
