Leicester City's Zula Ciempa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergiu Botgros in the 7th minute of play. Dorel Poenaru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vali Florescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicodim Rădoi hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. If Nicodim Rădoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 22 minutes into the match, Sergiu Botgros notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Leicester City's Zula Ciempa. Zula Ciempa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 25th minute of the match, Vali Florescu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dorel Poenaru saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 26 minutes, Marian Turceanu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Leicester City and the SCORPIONII players grew even worse after the yellow card. Marian Turceanu hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Leicester City's Nicodim Rădoi got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 38 minutes into the match, SCORPIONII's goal looked a bit too open when Vali Florescu came free, but Dorel Poenaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dorel Poenaru made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicodim Rădoi in the 40th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vali Florescu in the 41st minute of play forced SCORPIONII's goalkeeper Dorel Poenaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dorel Poenaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vali Florescu in the 43rd minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lucian Cerghizan to strike the kick off in the second half. Dorel Poenaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marian Turceanu in the 61st minute of the match. Liviu Ştefănică hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. After having played for 65 minutes, Lucian Cerghizan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SCORPIONII's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucian Cerghizan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 71st minute, Liviu Ştefănică hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd minute, Vali Florescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dorel Poenaru was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Dorel Poenaru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vali Florescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vali Florescu struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Dorel Poenaru didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leicester City. After 80 played minutes SCORPIONII got a freekick which was hit by Dumitru Zbagan. When Sergiu Botgros came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the SCORPIONII fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sergiu Botgros couldn't finish the play. If Sergiu Botgros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dorel Poenaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicodim Rădoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. In the 91st minute Vali Florescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dorel Poenaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led Leicester City's 陈枫适 to fire away a dangerous shot which Dorel Poenaru despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.
