Spectators: 6724 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1724, VIP seats: 0) Cristian Miclea started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 7 minutes into the match, Pogon Szczecin's Cristian Miclea sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gelu Creangă narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Manole Lupșoiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Cristian Miclea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Pogon Szczecin's Nechifor Chiper got a free kick in the 12th minute. 13 minutes into the game, Dorel Isăcescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fc. Botosani's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pogon Szczecin the free kick. A collision led to Fc. Botosani getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Dorel Isăcescu hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Fc. Botosani's zone, Manole Lupșoiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gelu Creangă came out of the goal and Manole Lupșoiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Cristian Miclea came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Pogon Szczecin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Miclea couldn't finish the play. 21 minutes into the match, Cristian Miclea notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Fc. Botosani's Gelu Creangă. Gelu Creangă was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cristian Miclea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gelu Creangă having to interfere. After 37 played minutes Fc. Botosani got a freekick which was hit by David Ruşdea. Gelu Creangă came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Pogon Szczecin's Cristian Miclea. But to his dismay, Cristian Miclea quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cătălin Stoicescu to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Cristian Miclea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gelu Creangă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 54 minutes, Gelu Creangă successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Cristian Miclea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Cătălin Stoicescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Răzvan Giugiuc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Cornel Gurgui tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fc. Botosani's goalkeeper Gelu Creangă, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gelu Creangă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manole Lupșoiu in the 79th minute of play. Pogon Szczecin's Cristian Miclea got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Manole Lupșoiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 94 played minutes Pogon Szczecin got a freekick which was hit by Nechifor Chiper. The Fc. Botosani fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Pogon Szczecin were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
