Tudor Tomescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cătălin Stoicescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Grecescu in the 18th minute of play forced Fc. Botosani's goalkeeper Gelu Creangă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fc. Botosani's Gelu Creangă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Grecescu in the 20th minute of play. Cristian Grecescu struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Gelu Creangă didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netotul. If Pavel Lupeanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Cristian Grecescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gelu Creangă was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. David Ruşdea hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Pavel Lupeanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gelu Creangă having to interfere. With a little luck, Fc. Botosani's Gelu Creangă got control of the ball when Pavel Lupeanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 34 minutes, Pavel Lupeanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netotul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pavel Lupeanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 46 minutes, Eric Niculcea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fc. Botosani and the Netotul players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 46th minute of the game. One of Fc. Botosani:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Netotul:s goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cătălin Stoicescu made a kick off. Cristian Grecescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 55 minutes into the match, Fc. Botosani's goal looked a bit too open when Pavel Lupeanu came free, but Gelu Creangă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dorel Isăcescu during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 60th minute, Dorel Isăcescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gelu Creangă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pavel Lupeanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. When Netotul's Cristian Grecescu in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Fc. Botosani's goalie prevented a goal. Gelu Creangă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Grecescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice moves Răzvan Giugiuc could shoot a difficult shot in the 71st minute, which Tudor Tomescu however easily saved by the left post. Botosani:s goal. The goalkeeper, Tudor Tomescu, was totally fooled by Fc. Botosani's Eric Niculcea, who 74 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Flavius Ciuhandu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fc. Botosani's supporters rose to their feet, but Flavius Ciuhandu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tudor Tomescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristian Grecescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Gelu Creangă tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gelu Creangă came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Netotul's Cristian Grecescu. But to his dismay, Cristian Grecescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. 4-1 became the score in the 94th minute when Cristian Grecescu elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. If Pavel Lupeanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Fc. Botosani's zone, Cristian Grecescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gelu Creangă came out of the goal and Cristian Grecescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gelu Creangă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Grecescu in the 102nd minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Netotul players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
