Daniel Melentie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 15th minute, Silviu Simuţ hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Liviu Voiculescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Chisirid FCM's Marcel Popovici got a free kick in the 17th minute. Avram Baltian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Smarandache having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, UFC Claudesti's goal looked a bit too open when Avram Baltian came free, but Victor Smarandache reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Victor Smarandache made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Avram Baltian in the 34th minute of play. Lucrețiu Pencu struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Lucian Covaci didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UFC Claudesti. Daniel Melentie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The UFC Claudesti players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Chisirid FCM were winning 0-1.

Liviu Voiculescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucian Covaci having to interfere. Mircea Goicea placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Avram Baltian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Avram Baltian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chisirid FCM's Marian Greavu got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Costin Zmărăndache kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. In the 71st minute Avram Baltian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Smarandache saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chisirid FCM's Lucian Covaci played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liviu Voiculescu in the 74th minute of play. After having played for 89 minutes, Silviu Simuţ managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chisirid FCM's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silviu Simuţ was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Chisirid FCM's zone, Liviu Voiculescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lucian Covaci came out of the goal and Liviu Voiculescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Chisirid FCM supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chisirid FCM would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
