If Nistor Nisipeanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ernest Zorlescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliodor Turlea having to interfere. After 8 played minutes Sutorul got a freekick which was hit by Dorin Jurăscu. If Nistor Nisipeanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 12 minutes, Mugurel Pavelescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Galaxy Lupeni and the Sutorul players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 11th minute of the game. One of Galaxy Lupeni:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sutorul:s goal. Dumitru Petran shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Ernest Zorlescu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eliodor Turlea having to make a save. In the 21st match minute, Sutorul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silviu Hoisie to maneuver through the defense. In the 24thth minute of the game Dorin Jurăscu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Galaxy Lupeni's Corneliu Vuia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Toader Enișteanu's late challenge caught a Sutorul's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Toader Enișteanu helped the player get up and apologised. Dorin Jurăscu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38th minute Romeo Nicoliță shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Corneliu Vuia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Dorin Jurăscu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sutorul's supporters rose to their feet, but Dorin Jurăscu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Corneliu Vuia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Sutorul were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dorin Jurăscu made a kick off. Galaxy Lupeni's Corneliu Vuia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorin Jurăscu in the 59th minute of play. Dorin Jurăscu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romeo Nicoliță blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Corneliu Vuia having to make a save. Dorin Jurăscu might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Corneliu Vuia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dorin Jurăscu ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Galaxy Lupeni's zone, Dorin Jurăscu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Corneliu Vuia came out of the goal and Dorin Jurăscu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Costel Gafița managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sutorul's supporters rose to their feet, but Costel Gafița was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Corneliu Vuia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sutorul's Eliodor Turlea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernest Zorlescu in the 78th minute of play. Costel Gafița received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Corneliu Vuia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 96th play minutes Mugur Bot shot 0-5, a short shot which went by Corneliu Vuia and just under the crossbar into goal. The Galaxy Lupeni fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Sutorul were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
