Spectators: 7467 (Terracing: 5602, Seating: 1717, VIP seats: 148) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Doru Rada started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Vacarea AC booed when FCSB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ionică Lechințan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stelian Zburlea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusebiu Şuplăcan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stelian Zburlea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doru Rada in the 10th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Răzvan Brumă in the 12th minute of play forced FCSB's goalkeeper Stelian Zburlea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stelian Zburlea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doru Rada, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 14 minutes into the match, FCSB's goal looked a bit too open when Eusebiu Şuplăcan came free, but Stelian Zburlea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 18 played minutes Vacarea AC got a freekick which was hit by Marin Poalelungi. Stelian Zburlea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marin Poalelungi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 23 minutes into the game, Doru Rada cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Stelian Zburlea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eusebiu Şuplăcan kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Doru Rada in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stelian Zburlea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 34th minute Doru Rada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stelian Zburlea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, FCSB's goal looked a bit too open when Marin Poalelungi came free, but Stelian Zburlea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marian Oprescu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 37thth minute, Ferdinand Tincu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After having played for 53 minutes, Francisc Teişanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FCSB's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisc Teişanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 56 minutes, Marian Oprescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FCSB and the Vacarea AC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Marian Oprescu kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Răzvan Brumă recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vacarea AC's Ferdinand Tincu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marian Oprescu in the 65th minute of play. After some careless play in the Vacarea AC defense, Ionică Lechințan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ferdinand Tincu. The Vacarea AC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ferdinand Tincu should have stopped the shot. In the 73rd minute, Doru Rada reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Stelian Zburlea. The goal made the score 2-3. Thanks to some nice moves Răzvan Brumă could shoot a difficult shot in the 76th minute, which Stelian Zburlea however easily saved by the left post. After some careless play in the FCSB defense, Răzvan Brumă kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stelian Zburlea. The FCSB fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stelian Zburlea should have stopped the shot. Răzvan Brumă's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Stelian Zburlea firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Marian Oprescu was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 82 minutes had been played. A collision led to FCSB getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Marian Oprescu hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Răzvan Brumă got free with Stelian Zburlea in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 86 played minutes FCSB got a freekick which was hit by Francisc Teişanu. Ionică Lechințan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 90 minutes into the match, Vacarea AC's goal looked a bit too open when Ionică Lechințan came free, but Ferdinand Tincu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vacarea AC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over FCSB's much stronger midfield.
