The audience thought a goal was coming when Călin Mironescu got free with Traian Drăgănoiu in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Horea Baniu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cazimir Toma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Crivoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valeriu Vătavu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 30 in the game by Călin Mironescu from a close distance when the talented Traian Drăgănoiu managed to make a qualified save. Cernatesti's players were relieved. If Valeriu Vătavu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Călin Mironescu kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. FC Cluj Paladins's Cazimir Toma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stelian Ruşdea in the 51st minute of play. Horea Baniu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
