The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd match minute, F.C. Anina Banat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Panait Mirea to maneuver through the defense. In the 6th minute of the match Viorel Panait shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gavril Blajovici showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, F.C. Anina Banat's Panait Mirea got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 9th minute, Isac Hogaș got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. F.C. Anina Banat's Gavril Blajovici played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristi Zafiu in the 18th minute of play. After a rather tough play, F.C. Anina Banat's Panait Mirea got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 20th minute, Gheorghe Orescu made a precise shot to the right of Gavril Blajovici. F.C. Anina Banat's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 29 minutes into the match, FC CFR Cluj's goal looked a bit too open when Isac Hogaș came free, but Eusebiu Pârvan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Denis Duca charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Isac Hogaș to strike the kick off in the second half. FC CFR Cluj's Gheorghe Orescu got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gavril Blajovici made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gheorghe Orescu in the 54th minute. The audience was convinced that Dinu Agudin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eusebiu Pârvan was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. Dinu Agudin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusebiu Pârvan having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, FC CFR Cluj's goal looked a bit too open when Dinu Agudin came free, but Eusebiu Pârvan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 63rd minute F.C. Anina Banat were awarded a corner. Albert Scutaru went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Edgar Costeiantu heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After 64 played minutes, F.C. Anina Banat's Mădălin Floroiu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Eusebiu Pârvan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in F.C. Anina Banat reached it. Cristi Zafiu struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Gavril Blajovici didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC CFR Cluj. In the 77th match minute, F.C. Anina Banat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horea Almăgean to maneuver through the defense. Cristi Zafiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Cristi Zafiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A hard shot by Viorel Panait from long distance, 84 minutes into the match, got Gavril Blajovici's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After a defensive mix-up in F.C. Anina Banat's zone, Gheorghe Orescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gavril Blajovici came out of the goal and Gheorghe Orescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 89th minute, Cristi Zafiu fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Gavril Blajovici, passed just outside the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dinu Agudin in the 91st minute of play forced FC CFR Cluj's goalkeeper Eusebiu Pârvan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 92 in the game by Gheorghe Orescu from a close distance when the talented Gavril Blajovici managed to make a qualified save. F.C. Anina Banat's players were relieved. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
