Cristi Zafiu started the match with the kick off. Eusebiu Pârvan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihail Vătafu in the 3rd minute of the match. Mihail Vătafu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to FC Sebastian getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Calistrat Logofeteanu hit a great ball. When Gheorghe Orescu came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the FC CFR Cluj fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gheorghe Orescu couldn't finish the play. In the 18th minute Radu Melinescu suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Emil Jucu charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emil Jucu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Mihail Vătafu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute, Gheorghe Orescu made a precise shot to the right of Ferdinand Pașcalău. FC Sebastian's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 32 minutes into the match, FC Sebastian's Mihail Vătafu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eusebiu Pârvan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 34 minutes of play, FC CFR Cluj's Gheorghe Orescu made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ferdinand Pașcalău was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Gheorghe Orescu in the 41st minute of play forced FC Sebastian's goalkeeper Ferdinand Pașcalău to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gheorghe Orescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferdinand Pașcalău having to interfere. Mihail Vătafu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nichifor Golumbean's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eusebiu Pârvan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Ferdinand Pașcalău had in the 68thth minute some difficulties stopping Mihai Buciu's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Mihail Vătafu struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Eusebiu Pârvan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Sebastian. Gheorghe Orescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Ferdinand Pașcalău tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th minute of the match Mircea Cernea shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eusebiu Pârvan showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Nichifor Golumbean managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Sebastian's supporters rose to their feet, but Nichifor Golumbean was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eusebiu Pârvan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 95th minute, Cristi Zafiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 98th minute, Nichifor Golumbean left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Sebastian fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2.
