After 8 played minutes Oțelul Galați got a freekick which was hit by Nae Goiceanu. After some careless play in the Oțelul Galați defense, Petruț Malcoci kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ciprian Mardare. The Oțelul Galați fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ciprian Mardare should have stopped the shot. Aristide Drâmba might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ciprian Mardare. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aristide Drâmba ran back to his position shaking his head. After 18 minutes, Nechifor Petrea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oțelul Galați and the FC Velos players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 18 played minutes Oțelul Galați got a freekick which was hit by Nechifor Petrea. Lucian Răchitan charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lucian Răchitan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 19th match minute, FC Velos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucian Răchitan to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute, Aristide Drâmba fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ciprian Mardare, passed just outside the right post. Nae Goiceanu charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. When Panait Istrătescu came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Oțelul Galați fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Panait Istrătescu couldn't finish the play. Teodor Focșa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gigi Blaj, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 31st match minute, FC Velos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ilie Suciu to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute, Ilie Suciu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ciprian Mardare. The goal made the score 2-0. Aristide Drâmba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Ciprian Mardare tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Petruț Malcoci got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aristide Drâmba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

52 minutes into the match, Petruț Malcoci had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ciprian Mardare. Oțelul Galați's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Petruț Malcoci was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After having played for 58 minutes, Petruț Malcoci managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Velos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Petruț Malcoci was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ciprian Mardare showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petruț Malcoci, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Oțelul Galați's Ciprian Mardare played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petruț Malcoci in the 62nd minute of play. If Gigi Blaj had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th minute, FC Velos's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gigi Blaj fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 69th minute of the match Nae Goiceanu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Teodor Focșa skillfully saved the ball. If Nechifor Aplugăriței had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 73 played minutes Oțelul Galați got a freekick which was hit by Panait Istrătescu. After a rather tough play, Oțelul Galați's Petru Alb got a free kick in the 74th minute. After 76 played minutes, FC Velos's Aurelian Firea shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ciprian Mardare came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Velos reached it. Nae Goiceanu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 87th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Teodor Focșa. FC Velos's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Aristide Drâmba might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ciprian Mardare. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aristide Drâmba ran back to his position shaking his head. Ciprian Mardare came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Velos's Petruț Malcoci. But to his dismay, Petruț Malcoci quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. FC Velos's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
