The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Purcaru to make the kick off. Daniel Purcaru might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dragoş Ştati. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Purcaru ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 55th minute Marin Mihădaș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Traian Zeciu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Gelu Bucurescu could shoot a difficult shot in the 56th minute, which Traian Zeciu however easily saved by the left post. Traian Zeciu made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Gelu Bucurescu sent off a good shot on target. 64 minutes into the match, Sparta do Prague FC's goalkeeper Traian Zeciu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gelu Bucurescu. Dragoş Ştati came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Sparta do Prague FC's Daniel Purcaru. But to his dismay, Daniel Purcaru quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 89th minute, Daniel Purcaru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sparta do Prague FC's Daniel Purcaru got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dragoş Ştati made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Purcaru in the 94th minute of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
