The audience was convinced that Eliodor Ponor's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ferdinand Elenescu was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dorel Burdulea to strike the kick off in the second half. Dorel Burdulea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Ferdinand Elenescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Remus Miclauș showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aurel Nicorici in the 90th minute of the match. In the 92nd match minute, METAXA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Liviu Cârțan to maneuver through the defense. If Aurel Nicorici had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eminescu's Cazimir Huștiu got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. METAXA's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
