The referee ignored Eminescu's protests and gave Martin Frățilă a yellow card for diving instead. 11 minutes into the game, Eminescu's Cazimir Huștiu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adrian Vâtcă made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 24th minute, Martin Frățilă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ferdinand Elenescu acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 25th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Tudor Dersidan. Emil Asachi hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Mugurel Dragalina managed to get in a good position for a shot. Joseri's supporters rose to their feet, but Mugurel Dragalina was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ferdinand Elenescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 40th minute, Mugurel Dragalina got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 44th minute, Dorin Marioteanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 47 minutes, Aurel Nicorici managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eminescu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aurel Nicorici was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dorin Marioteanu made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Eminescu's Emil Asachi got a free kick in the 54th minute. 56 minutes into the match, Dorin Marioteanu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ferdinand Elenescu. Eminescu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dorin Marioteanu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. If Mugurel Dragalina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dorin Marioteanu kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. 64 minutes into the game, Mugurel Dragalina was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Joseri's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eminescu the free kick. Mugurel Dragalina kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Cazimir Huștiu could shoot a difficult shot in the 66th minute, which Adrian Vâtcă however easily saved by the left post. The Eminescu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ferdinand Elenescu should have stopped the shot. 76 minutes into the match, Eminescu's goal looked a bit too open when Dorin Marioteanu came free, but Ferdinand Elenescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dorin Marioteanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Joseri's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
