When Marius Săvescu came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the BBI&REA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marius Săvescu couldn't finish the play. Horia Ciompec was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 12th minute. Dragheasa's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Emil Almăgean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 23 minutes into the match, Dragheasa's goal looked a bit too open when Aurelian Podgoreanu came free, but Mugur Burdea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mugur Burdea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marius Săvescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 39 minutes into the match, Marius Săvescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mugur Burdea. Dragheasa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marius Săvescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. With an all-out effort, Dragheasa's Isac Săliştean threw himself towards the right post 43 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Claudiu Muncelean, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Marius Săvescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ferdinand Tătaru to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horia Ciompec in the 51st minute of play forced BBI&REA's goalkeeper Isac Săliştean to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marius Săvescu struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Mugur Burdea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BBI&REA. After a rather tough play, BBI&REA's Leonard Mocanu got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 61st minute, Emil Almăgean got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mugur Burdea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marius Săvescu's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Dragheasa's zone, Marius Săvescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mugur Burdea came out of the goal and Marius Săvescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mugur Burdea was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Aurelian Podgoreanu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Aurelian Podgoreanu really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. With an all-out effort, BBI&REA's Mugur Burdea threw himself towards the right post 79 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marius Săvescu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Basarab Ionete might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mugur Burdea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Basarab Ionete ran back to his position shaking his head. Valeriu Dragomiroiu's late challenge caught a BBI&REA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valeriu Dragomiroiu helped the player get up and apologised. After 83 played minutes Dragheasa got a freekick which was hit by Valeriu Dragomiroiu. 85 minutes into the game, Petruț Pricop was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BBI&REA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dragheasa the free kick. Petruț Pricop hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Mugur Burdea made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Aurelian Podgoreanu sent off a good shot on target. Petruț Pricop fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mugur Burdea having to interfere. Ştefan Ailenei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Mugur Burdea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mugur Burdea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aurelian Podgoreanu in the 92nd minute. Aurelian Podgoreanu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mugur Burdea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded BBI&REA left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Dragheasa.
