Aurelian Acatincăi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Corneliu Panaiteanu's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Cristi Burca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horia Vărzaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Corneliu Panaiteanu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 32ndth minute tested the skills of Aurelian Acatincăi when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 37th minute Horia Vărzaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristi Burca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aurelian Acatincăi made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Rareș Duca sent off a good shot on target. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Corneliu Panaiteanu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Corneliu Panaiteanu in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Aurelian Acatincăi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Corneliu Panaiteanu's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. When Rareș Duca came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Noul fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rareș Duca couldn't finish the play. Noul's Corneliu Panaiteanu got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristi Burca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vasile Uzuneanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Noul's zone, Vasile Uzuneanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristi Burca came out of the goal and Vasile Uzuneanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristi Burca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horia Vărzaru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aurelian Acatincăi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stelian Ştercă in the 85th minute of the match.
