In the 14th match minute, Universitatea Cluj was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicu Vâtcă to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute of the match Pablo Izar shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dan Ciuhandu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Grigore Sfetcu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Universitatea Cluj's Dan Ciuhandu got control of the ball when Gigi Ştefănescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to BlackSquad getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Nechifor Bociort hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Grigore Sfetcu in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gigel Aalexoaiei saved BlackSquad from getting behind. BlackSquad's Gigel Aalexoaiei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudiu Haidău in the 31st minute of play. Gigel Aalexoaiei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudiu Haidău in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Grigore Sfetcu made a precise shot to the right of Gigel Aalexoaiei. BlackSquad's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 40th minute, Grigore Sfetcu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 41st match minute, Universitatea Cluj was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcel Stănciulescu to maneuver through the defense. The BlackSquad players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Universitatea Cluj were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Grigore Sfetcu made the kick off in the second half. If Panait Alamaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Grigore Sfetcu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gigel Aalexoaiei having to interfere. In the 54th match minute, BlackSquad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernest Tănăsie to maneuver through the defense. After 54 played minutes BlackSquad got a freekick which was hit by Nechifor Bociort. When Grigore Sfetcu came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Universitatea Cluj fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Grigore Sfetcu couldn't finish the play. Universitatea Cluj's Adrian Barascu got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in BlackSquad's zone, Claudiu Haidău stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gigel Aalexoaiei came out of the goal and Claudiu Haidău tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcel Stănciulescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 65 played minutes BlackSquad got a freekick which was hit by Pablo Izar. If Panait Alamaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to BlackSquad getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Ernest Tănăsie hit a great ball. Gigi Ştefănescu took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dan Ciuhandu. Dan Ciuhandu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Universitatea Cluj's Adrian Barascu got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Grigore Sfetcu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Grigore Sfetcu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nichifor Negură in the 88th minute of play forced Universitatea Cluj's goalkeeper Dan Ciuhandu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th minute, Adrian Barascu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Universitatea Cluj fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After some careless play in the Universitatea Cluj defense, Gigi Ştefănescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dan Ciuhandu. The Universitatea Cluj fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dan Ciuhandu should have stopped the shot. BlackSquad succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Universitatea Cluj had controlled the match.
