In the 6th match minute, FC Universitatea Craiova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silviu Popic to maneuver through the defense. In the 7th minute, Costel Negrilă got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Damian Pânzariu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Petre Drăgan made a huge save. In the 10th match minute, FC Vointa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Costel Negrilă to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, FC Universitatea Craiova's Petre Drăgan threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luca Ianculescu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Petre Drăgan came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by FC Universitatea Craiova's Luca Ianculescu. But to his dismay, Luca Ianculescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. FC Universitatea Craiova's Cătălin Zota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Costel Negrilă in the 24th minute of play. Cătălin Zota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viorel Mavrodin in the 25th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luca Ianculescu in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Petre Drăgan saved FC Vointa from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in FC Universitatea Craiova's zone, Nicu Șeimeanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cătălin Zota came out of the goal and Nicu Șeimeanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. FC Universitatea Craiova were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after FC Vointa's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Adrian Ailenei took the corner. FC Universitatea Craiova's Adrian Ailenei was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Petre Drăgan in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luca Ianculescu in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Petre Drăgan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The audience was convinced that Luca Ianculescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Petre Drăgan was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. FC Vointa's Petre Drăgan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Ianculescu in the 58th minute of play. In the 60th match minute, FC Vointa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicu Șeimeanu to maneuver through the defense. After 62 minutes, Calistrat Dudău mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Vointa and the FC Universitatea Craiova players grew even worse after the yellow card. Calistrat Dudău kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, FC Vointa's Valentin Giubelean got a free kick in the 68th minute. FC Universitatea Craiova's Victor Alexiu managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Horia Pascu in the 70 minute of the game. 73 minutes into the match, Luca Ianculescu notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of FC Vointa's Petre Drăgan. Petre Drăgan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When FC Universitatea Craiova's Luca Ianculescu in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Petre Drăgan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, FC Universitatea Craiova's Cătălin Zota got control of the ball when Maxim Moldovan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Petre Drăgan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damian Pânzariu in the 96th minute of play.
