Codruț Răchitans short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Manuel Suşu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gilau's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Ernest Lesnea scored to the left of an out of position Manuel Suşu, making the score, 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernest Lesnea in the 31st minute of play forced Gilau's goalkeeper Manuel Suşu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The The Star of Football fans' excitement grew in the 35th match minute when The Star of Football's Codruț Răchitan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Codruț Răchitan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the match, Gilau's goal looked a bit too open when Ernest Lesnea came free, but Manuel Suşu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alin Dejeu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Manuel Suşu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Gilau's goal looked a bit too open when Codruț Răchitan came free, but Manuel Suşu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Petre Zub fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albert Lucănescu having to interfere. In the 93rd match minute, Gilau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Șerban Ciocâlteu to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Gilau's zone, Codruț Răchitan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Suşu came out of the goal and Codruț Răchitan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. The Star of Football had played much better football throughout.
