The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the match, Jonis's goal looked a bit too open when Doru Mercea came free, but Emanuel Lucănescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonis's attentive Radu Tastaman managed to snatch the ball when Nichifor Ieremia made a throw-in in the 39th minute of the game. Denis Chiriac hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Jonis's Emanuel Lucănescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gigel Dordea in the 46th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Iacob Zgabei made the kick off in the second half. Emanuel Lucănescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doru Mercea, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. 56 minutes into the match, Andrew Daly had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ilie Dridu. After 60 minutes of play, Jonis's Jared Crook made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ilie Dridu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Emanuel Lucănescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doru Mercea in the 72nd minute of the match. In the 82nd minute, Lucrețiu Bistreanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Dezesti CF defense, Alexandru Abrudan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ilie Dridu. The Dezesti CF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ilie Dridu should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Jonis getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Dorel Mârza hit a great ball. Ion Bobeanu hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute Gigel Dordea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Lucănescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dezesti CF's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
