In the 6th minute Petre Săliştean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isac Hojbota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vali Maghiar in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nechifor Păunescu saved Fotbal Club Otelul Galati from getting behind. In the 9thth minute of the game Olimpiu Rizea who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fotbal Club Otelul Galati's Nechifor Păunescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Cezar Cucu sped through FC Politehnica Timisoara's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Isac Hojbota. In the 14th minute Olimpiu Rizea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nechifor Păunescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nechifor Păunescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olimpiu Rizea in the 15th minute of play. Nechifor Păunescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olimpiu Rizea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fotbal Club Otelul Galati's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Olimpiu Rizea was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Politehnica Timisoara's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Elias Abad heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Isac Hojbota made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Cezar Cucu sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Fotbal Club Otelul Galati's Vali Cucu got a free kick in the 26th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Olimpiu Rizea in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nechifor Păunescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 32 minutes into the match, FC Politehnica Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Gelu Alexandrescu came free, but Isac Hojbota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, FC Politehnica Timisoara's Isac Hojbota got control of the ball when Cezar Cucu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fotbal Club Otelul Galati's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cezar Cucu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gelu Alexandrescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Fotbal Club Otelul Galati was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 龙冰文 to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Fotbal Club Otelul Galati booed when FC Politehnica Timisoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vali Maghiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olimpiu Rizea in the 56th minute of play forced Fotbal Club Otelul Galati's goalkeeper Nechifor Păunescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nechifor Păunescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olimpiu Rizea in the 59th minute of the match. Isac Hojbota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gelu Alexandrescu in the 68th minute of play. Alin Moșanu hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After 71 played minutes FC Politehnica Timisoara got a freekick which was hit by Alin Moșanu. Gelu Alexandrescu scored 3-0 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Isac Hojbota, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Isac Hojbota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petre Săliştean, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Olimpiu Rizea in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nechifor Păunescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Petre Săliştean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Isac Hojbota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fotbal Club Otelul Galati's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
