Spectators: 9177 (Terracing: 6884, Seating: 2111, VIP seats: 182) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Klemensas Bazaras took the kick off in the first half of the match. The supporters of FC Egydasas booed when UNITED Kaunas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raimundas Šernas didn't get a good kick on the ball. UNITED Kaunas's Raimondas Kuodys played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juras Svetulevičius in the 5th minute of play. Raimondas Kuodys took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juras Svetulevičius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 8 minutes into the match, FC Egydasas's goalkeeper Edmundas Sabaliauskas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Klemensas Bazaras. In the 13th minute, Rokas Norkus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Raimundas Šernas struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Edmundas Sabaliauskas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UNITED Kaunas. Deimantas Erčius charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Deimantas Erčius the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the match had been going on for 28 minutes, UNITED Kaunas's Raimundas Šernas got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Edmundas Sabaliauskas. Raimundas Šernas in the 34thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Edmundas Sabaliauskas, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Gediminas Vainauskas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimondas Kuodys having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in UNITED Kaunas's zone, Juras Svetulevičius stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raimondas Kuodys came out of the goal and Juras Svetulevičius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Raimundas Šernas managed to get in a good position for a shot. UNITED Kaunas's supporters rose to their feet, but Raimundas Šernas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edmundas Sabaliauskas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 44 played minutes FC Egydasas got a freekick which was hit by Rokas Norkus. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gediminas Vainauskas was the one to do the kick off. Raimondas Kuodys made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Juras Svetulevičius sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, UNITED Kaunas's Jurgis Stanevičius got a free kick in the 55th minute. After recieving a nice pass, FC Egydasas's Karolis Gilaitis tried to score from far away in the 56th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 61 minutes, Raimondas Kuodys successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Edmundas Sabaliauskas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Klemensas Bazaras, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. When Kastytis Norkūnas came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the UNITED Kaunas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kastytis Norkūnas couldn't finish the play. UNITED Kaunas made a substitution. Nedas Buzelis replaced Skirmantas Vainauskas. With a little luck, UNITED Kaunas's Raimondas Kuodys got control of the ball when Juras Svetulevičius tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to UNITED Kaunas getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Redas Baltūsis hit a great ball. Edmundas Sabaliauskas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Klemensas Bazaras in the 80th minute of play. Juras Svetulevičius recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Juras Svetulevičius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dinaras Pilipavičius's late challenge caught a FC Egydasas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dinaras Pilipavičius helped the player get up and apologised. After 94 played minutes FC Egydasas got a freekick which was hit by Juras Svetulevičius. 95 minutes into the game, Adomas Babelis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. UNITED Kaunas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Egydasas the free kick. After recieving a nice pass, FC Egydasas's Karolis Gilaitis tried to score from far away in the 96th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. UNITED Kaunas's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
