The audience thought a goal was coming when Markos Kalamarakis got free with Ntinos Tselios in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Glikoneri's zone, Markos Kalamarakis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ntinos Tselios came out of the goal and Markos Kalamarakis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 22nd minute Evripidis Tziolis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giorgos Zafiriou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to ARIS getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Tasos Konstantopoulos hit a great ball. After 24 played minutes, Glikoneri's Stergios Katsadouros shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Giorgos Zafiriou came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Glikoneri reached it. If Markos Kalamarakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute, Giannis Tsigos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 31 minutes into the match, ARIS's goal looked a bit too open when Ntinos Agapidis came free, but Giorgos Zafiriou reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Alexis Kaplanopoulos came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the ARIS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexis Kaplanopoulos couldn't finish the play. Alexis Kaplanopoulos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The attack was good, but when Alexis Kaplanopoulos in the 73rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 78 minutes into the match, ARIS's goalkeeper Giorgos Zafiriou had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ntinos Agapidis. When the referee ended the match the ARIS players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
