A.O A.E.K SYROY's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tilemachos Karagiannis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 7 played minutes Ao Thrakis got a freekick which was hit by Paris Karipidis. The audience was convinced that Panos Prekkas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Savas Tsiamakis was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. Sokratis Labirikos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 15thth minute tested the skills of Kostas Venetidis when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of A.O A.E.K SYROY booed when Ao Thrakis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kostas Bolias didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Panos Prekkas came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the A.O A.E.K SYROY fans jumped to their feet. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sokratis Labirikos got free with Kostas Venetidis in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 32 minutes of play, A.O A.E.K SYROY's Panos Prekkas made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Savas Tsiamakis was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Ao Thrakis booed when A.O A.E.K SYROY was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tilemachos Karagiannis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute of the match, Sokratis Labirikos got a very nice opportunity to score, but Kostas Venetidis was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
