After a defensive mix-up in Oxford University's zone, Thalis Mavridis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valentinos Kyriakakoglou came out of the goal and Thalis Mavridis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Panagiotis Pentedekas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oxford University's Valentinos Kyriakakoglou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thalis Mavridis in the 21st minute of play. Stratos Georgiadis kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 28th minute Thanos Zotalopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manolis Chatziioannou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 0-1 became the score in the 30th minute when Thalis Mavridis elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After having played for 34 minutes, Thanos Zotalopoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oxford University's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thanos Zotalopoulos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Giorgos Zoras's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Manolis Chatziioannou read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. When Stelios Kapogiannopoulos came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Oxford University fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stelios Kapogiannopoulos couldn't finish the play. Thanos Zotalopoulos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Manolis Chatziioannou made a huge save. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When Daniil Kaloutas fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KazaklarFC's protests and gave Daniil Kaloutas a yellow card for diving instead. 69 minutes into the match, Oxford University's goal looked a bit too open when Thalis Mavridis came free, but Valentinos Kyriakakoglou reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Thalis Mavridis came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the KazaklarFC fans jumped to their feet. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Oxford University's goalkeeper Valentinos Kyriakakoglou, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Valentinos Kyriakakoglou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thalis Mavridis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Vassilis Mantzouranas was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 81 minutes had been played. In the 81st minute, Vassilis Mantzouranas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Thanos Zotalopoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manolis Chatziioannou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thanos Zotalopoulos in the 96th minute of play. Thanos Zotalopoulos scored 1-1 in the 97th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Manolis Chatziioannou, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
