Fanis Kassianidis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giorgos Zoras, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Thanos Zotalopoulos scored 0-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fanis Kassianidis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thanos Zotalopoulos in the 27th minute of play forced Elatokhσri's goalkeeper Fanis Kassianidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanos Zotalopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. A collision led to Elatokhσri getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Loukas Kefalou hit a great ball. Giorgos Zoras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Oxford University were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Giorgos Zoras to make the kick off. The long shot by Konstantinos Zikos in the 54th minute really tested Fanis Kassianidis's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Elatokhσri's Loukas Kefalou got his second yellow card of the match in the 55th minute. The referee ordered Loukas Kefalou off the ground. In the 56th minute, Loukas Kefalou hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fanis Kassianidis made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Thanos Zotalopoulos sent off a good shot on target. Giorgos Zoras struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Fanis Kassianidis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oxford University. If Giorgos Zoras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oxford University's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giorgos Zoras was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 90th minute, Efthimis Patselas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 92 minutes into the match, Elatokhσri's goalkeeper Fanis Kassianidis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thanos Zotalopoulos. The Elatokhσri fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Oxford University were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
