But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valerios Lazanas couldn't finish the play. Omiros Nikolopoulos charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Omiros Nikolopoulos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 8 minutes into the game, one of Olympiakos S.F. Pagou:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave ΜΑΙΑΝΔΡΟΣ a penalty, 10 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Christos Togas, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Olympiakos S.F. Pagou's Dimos Plitsis. 0-1. Dimitris Papapetrou received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Koulis Kioutsoukalis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 19 minutes in the game, Dimitris Papapetrou fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Koulis Kioutsoukalis having to interfere. ΜΑΙΑΝΔΡΟΣ's Alekos Meletoglou got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kyriakos Sfakianakis in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dimos Plitsis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With his leg Koulis Kioutsoukalis managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Olympiakos S.F. Pagou's Akakios Petroulis fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kyriakos Sfakianakis in the 45th minute of play forced Olympiakos S.F. Pagou's goalkeeper Dimos Plitsis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pagou's Akakios Petroulis got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Alekos Meletoglou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dimos Plitsis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kyriakos Sfakianakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kyriakos Sfakianakis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dimos Plitsis having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Christos Togas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Kyriakos Sfakianakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kyriakos Sfakianakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Olympiakos S.F. Pagou's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Kyriakos Sfakianakis 91 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Kyriakos Sfakianakis managed to get in a good position for a shot. ΜΑΙΑΝΔΡΟΣ's supporters rose to their feet, but Kyriakos Sfakianakis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dimos Plitsis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched ΜΑΙΑΝΔΡΟΣ eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
