Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Thanasis Iordanidis started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 7thth minute of the game Thanasis Iordanidis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AEK Rethimnou's Nontas Argyrakis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 12 minutes into the match, AEK Rethimnou's goalkeeper Nontas Argyrakis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kyriakos Klanakis. After 13 played minutes AEK Rethimnou got a freekick which was hit by Anthimos Prokovas. Nontas Argyrakis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kyriakos Klanakis in the 14th minute. A collision led to AEK Rethimnou getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Paris Leontiadis hit a great ball. Nontas Argyrakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thanasis Iordanidis in the 16th minute of play. Stars's Thanasis Iordanidis got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 27 minutes into the match, Stars's Kyriakos Klanakis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nontas Argyrakis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Stars's Thanasis Iordanidis in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AEK Rethimnou's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 40 minutes, Anthimos Prokovas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AEK Rethimnou's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anthimos Prokovas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kyriakos Klanakis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nontas Argyrakis having to interfere. Loukas Bletsas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paris Leontiadis in the 45th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Anthimos Prokovas to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Stars's Stamatis Pandrakis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nontas Argyrakis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Kyriakos Klanakis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nontas Argyrakis having to interfere. Paris Leontiadis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Paris Leontiadis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stars's defense didn't have a chance, in the 87th minute, when Anthimos Prokovas scored to the left of an out of position Loukas Bletsas, making the score, 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Paris Leontiadis managed to get in a good position for a shot. AEK Rethimnou's supporters rose to their feet, but Paris Leontiadis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Loukas Bletsas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
