In the 40thth minute of the game Christian Vieri who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Xarilaou FC's Kostas Kourmouzis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Miladin Kirichev's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fernando Prassov was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When Henrihs Kazimirs was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 51 minutes had been played. The supporters of Green Hell F.C. booed when Xarilaou FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henrihs Kazimirs didn't get a good kick on the ball.
