Spectators: 7705 (Terracing: 5780, Seating: 1772, VIP seats: 153) Minnesota Wild's Jani Teräs started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Minnesota Wild's Jonne Hernesniemi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jalmari Allen in the 3rd minute of play. Uuno Lääkkö recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 6th minute, Auno Pyhältö hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 7th minute, Uuno Lääkkö made a precise shot to the right of Jonne Hernesniemi. Minnesota Wild's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 11th minute of the match Risto Lindfors sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonne Hernesniemi skillfully saved the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Karhukorpi's Arsi Siren broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 16 minutes into the match, Minnesota Wild's goal looked a bit too open when Pekko Kangasmäki came free, but Jonne Hernesniemi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Juha-Pekka Karhu got free with Taito Seikola in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 21 played minutes Minnesota Wild got a freekick which was hit by Auno Pyhältö. Pekko Kangasmäki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonne Hernesniemi having to interfere. Uuno Lääkkö's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonne Hernesniemi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Pekko Kangasmäki ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonne Hernesniemi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Jani Teräs struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Taito Seikola didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Minnesota Wild. Timo Tarvainen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Taito Seikola made a huge save. After 38 minutes, Jalmari Allen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Karhukorpi and the Minnesota Wild players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Karhukorpi's Jalmari Allen got a free kick in the 38th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Juha-Pekka Karhu got free with Taito Seikola in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Uuno Lääkkö was the one to do the kick off. Minnesota Wild's Jonne Hernesniemi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pekko Kangasmäki in the 52nd minute of play. Jani Teräs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Juha-Pekka Karhu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Taito Seikola having to interfere. 67 minutes into the game, Olavi Niemelä was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Karhukorpi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Minnesota Wild the free kick. A collision led to Karhukorpi getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Olavi Niemelä hit a great ball. In the 70th minute, Juha-Pekka Karhu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Uuno Lääkkö managed to get in a good position for a shot. Karhukorpi's supporters rose to their feet, but Uuno Lääkkö was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonne Hernesniemi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Minnesota Wild booed when Karhukorpi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kustaa Nyyssönen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juha-Pekka Karhu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Taito Seikola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 80 minutes into the game, Minnesota Wild's Jani Teräs nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Taito Seikola made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. If Jani Teräs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Taito Seikola showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juha-Pekka Karhu in the 90th minute of the match. The Karhukorpi players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
