Heino Helenius could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Heino Blom made a huge save. Heino Blom made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Heino Helenius sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Saukoski FC's Teppo Järvenpää got a free kick in the 23rd minute. A collision led to Uttermossa getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Erkki Dahlman hit a great ball. With a little luck, Uttermossa's Heino Blom got control of the ball when Heino Helenius tried to sneak it across the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Saukoski FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marko Luoma came free, but Onni Lehto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kullervo Lehtilä in the 43rd minute of play forced Saukoski FC's goalkeeper Onni Lehto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marko Luoma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Onni Lehto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The supporters of Uttermossa booed when Saukoski FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Torsti Kaukonen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kullervo Lehtilä fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Onni Lehto having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Uttermossa players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Saukoski FC.
