Seating: 1781, VIP seats: 100) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Kuisma Paatelainen got the match started through his kick off. Jyri Kiviranta's late challenge caught a Haapakylä's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 41st minute, Ossi Kuusiniemi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tapulin Pallo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Reijo Kilponen made a kick off. Ossi Kuusiniemi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Markus Kuusela having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Haapakylä's Tero Hassinen got a free kick in the 54th minute. When Reijo Kilponen came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Tapulin Pallo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reijo Kilponen couldn't finish the play. Kustaa Rahikainen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raine Leinonen, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Kustaa Rahikainen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vilho Nevanlinna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reijo Kilponen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 80th minute Kaapro Oksa suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Kuisma Paatelainen kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Kustaa Rahikainen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raine Leinonen in the 93rd minute of play. The Tapulin Pallo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tapulin Pallo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
