Kustaa Rahikainen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Atso Kangaskorpi in the 4th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, KooTeePee's Hemmo Suoraniemi got a free kick in the 6th minute. Janne Tuomisalo hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Henrikki Palsola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kustaa Rahikainen having to interfere. In the 17th minute Ossi Kuusiniemi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mika Kaipainen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes into the game, Jyri Kiviranta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tapulin Pallo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KooTeePee the free kick. Atso Kangaskorpi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Atso Kangaskorpi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Kustaa Rahikainen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. KooTeePee's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomi Nieminen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A hard shot by Päiviö Huokko from long distance, 42 minutes into the match, got Kustaa Rahikainen's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. If Atso Kangaskorpi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hemmo Suoraniemi got free with Kustaa Rahikainen in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Atso Kangaskorpi in the 46thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Kustaa Rahikainen, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Hemmo Suoraniemi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Reijo Kilponen to strike the kick off in the second half. Reijo Kilponen received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mika Kaipainen came out and tried to block the shot, but Reijo Kilponen slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 53rd minute. Henrikki Palsola struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Kustaa Rahikainen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KooTeePee. Atso Kangaskorpi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Kustaa Rahikainen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute Henrikki Palsola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kustaa Rahikainen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Atso Kangaskorpi in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kustaa Rahikainen saved Tapulin Pallo from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Ossi Kuusiniemi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tapulin Pallo's supporters rose to their feet, but Ossi Kuusiniemi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mika Kaipainen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The long shot by Usko Vähäsavo in the 72nd minute really tested Mika Kaipainen's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Kustaa Rahikainen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henrikki Palsola, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Hemmo Suoraniemi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Kustaa Rahikainen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 80 played minutes KooTeePee got a freekick which was hit by Atso Kangaskorpi. If Tomi Nieminen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 89 minutes, Atso Kangaskorpi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 93rd minute, Janne Tuomisalo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Anssi Nyrhinen in the 96th minute really tested Mika Kaipainen's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. There was no doubt that KooTeePee were the better team. KooTeePee's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
