The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Jurvansalo's goal looked a bit too open when Kaapo Kangasalusta came free, but Aukusti Tallqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 8th minute, Teemu Pihlajamäki got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Jurvansalo's zone, Kaapo Kangasalusta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aukusti Tallqvist came out of the goal and Kaapo Kangasalusta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 13 minutes, Kaapo Kangasalusta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tikkakoski's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kaapo Kangasalusta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kaapo Kangasalusta in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aukusti Tallqvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 26th minute, Petteri Suoste hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 32 minutes into the match, Teemu Pihlajamäki notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Jurvansalo's Aukusti Tallqvist. Aukusti Tallqvist was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pietari Kurri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rauli Vähä, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Teemu Pihlajamäki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aukusti Tallqvist having to interfere. Kaapo Kangasalusta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Aukusti Tallqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aukusti Tallqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teemu Pihlajamäki in the 47th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Rauli Vähä made the kick off in the second half. Pietari Kurri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teuvo Eskelinen, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jurvansalo's goalkeeper Aukusti Tallqvist, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kaleva Hedberg kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 66th minute, Alpo Kaipainen sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Jurvansalo's Aukusti Tallqvist didn't even have to move. 68 minutes into the match, Jurvansalo's goal looked a bit too open when Kaapo Kangasalusta came free, but Aukusti Tallqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Teuvo Eskelinen came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Jurvansalo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teuvo Eskelinen couldn't finish the play. In the 87th match minute, Tikkakoski was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teppo Pentsinen to maneuver through the defense. Pietari Kurri stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rauli Vähä's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. Tikkakoski's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
