The audience was convinced that Trifon Karolev's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Slavi Sandov was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. FC Köln's defense didn't have a chance, in the 45th minute, when Yoan Gitev scored to the left of an out of position Bozhin Tuhchiev, making the score, 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kamen Zhilkov to strike the kick off in the second half. Bozhin Tuhchiev didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Yoan Gitev went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 62nd minute of the game, Dragomir Enkov landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. 62 minutes into the game, Argir Cholchev was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Köln's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ФК Червено знаме the free kick. In the 62nd minute, one of FC Köln:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Köln. The audience was convinced that Kamen Zhilkov's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bozhin Tuhchiev was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. But to his dismay, Yoan Gitev quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. The ФК Червено знаме support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
