In the 11th minute, one of FCBarcelona:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FCBarcelona. Zeynel Işıklı went to the wrong direction when Can Şahinalp was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. 14 minutes into the match, FCBarcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Orhan Veli Yenisey came free, but Zeynel Işıklı reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zeynel Işıklı stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Orhan Veli Yenisey's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. FENERBAHCE SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Orhan Veli Yenisey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FCBarcelona's Zeynel Işıklı proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save FCBarcelona from getting a goal against them. Şehzade Eski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeynel Işıklı having to interfere.
