Bedri Özgurcan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cezmi Ulaş, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Efespor's Bedri Özgurcan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baransel Vasfi in the 8th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cezmi Ulaş in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bedri Özgurcan saved Efespor from getting behind. In the 15th minute, one of Efespor:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Efespor. In the 17th minute there was a penalty for Trabzonspor. Ferhat Cenap stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Bedri Özgurcan. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Can Kabak in the 19th minute of play forced Trabzonspor's goalkeeper Ahmet Fikret Kalhan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cezmi Ulaş took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bedri Özgurcan. Bedri Özgurcan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After 31 played minutes Efespor got a freekick which was hit by Halit Ankaralı. Efespor's Bedri Özgurcan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cezmi Ulaş in the 33rd minute of play. The supporters of Efespor booed when Trabzonspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Umut Tanaydin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ayvaz Beycan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Ahmet Fikret Kalhan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Bedri Özgurcan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cezmi Ulaş in the 45th minute of play. Baransel Vasfi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bedri Özgurcan having to interfere. After the first half Trabzonspor were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ayvaz Beycan was the one to do the kick off. Can Kabak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 54th minute of the match, Cezmi Ulaş got a very nice opportunity to score, but Bedri Özgurcan was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Bedri Özgurcan was out of position in the 60 minute of play, and Baransel Vasfi capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Baransel Vasfi really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. After a rather tough play, Efespor's Halit Ankaralı got a free kick in the 67th minute. A collision led to Trabzonspor getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Ahmet Fikret Gülsoy hit a great ball. Trabzonspor's Ahmet Fikret Kalhan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kubat Toprak in the 77th minute of play. Umut Tanaydin hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Efespor's zone, Baransel Vasfi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bedri Özgurcan came out of the goal and Baransel Vasfi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 89 minutes into the match, Efespor's goalkeeper Bedri Özgurcan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cezmi Ulaş. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cezmi Ulaş got free with Bedri Özgurcan in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Baransel Vasfi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Bedri Özgurcan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Trabzonspor's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
