Bedrettin Erendiz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hakkı Devrim Onursan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Yücel Ergintuğ received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Hakkı Kenan Zorbey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yücel Ergintuğ struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Hakkı Kenan Zorbey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fenerbahçe SK. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Korcan Terim made a kick off. Hakkı Kenan Zorbey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Korcan Terim in the 54th minute of play. After 56 played minutes Karabük JK got a freekick which was hit by Serkan Polatalp. If Korcan Terim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Fenerbahçe SK's Hakkı Devrim Onursan got control of the ball when İbrahim Efe Özertem tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 76th minute, Fahrettin Yarkın hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. İbrahim Efe Özertem fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hakkı Devrim Onursan having to interfere. Korcan Terim took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hakkı Kenan Zorbey. Hakkı Kenan Zorbey dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. A collision led to Fenerbahçe SK getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Mehmet Emin Mutluay hit a great ball. There was no doubt that Fenerbahçe SK were the better team. Fenerbahçe SK's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
