Abayhan Şensoy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Varol Şahiner's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Cenap Ülmen hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Resulhan Sualp made in the 75th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Rapid Jabbaros's Ertan Ülke. After 76 minutes, Cihangir Hendekli mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SE Palmeiras and the Rapid Jabbaros players grew even worse after the yellow card.
