After a defensive mix-up in Cayyolu JK's zone, Namık Kemal Gençoğlu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Selçuk Şencan came out of the goal and Namık Kemal Gençoğlu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rahim Totuk charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rahim Totuk the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Malatyaspor getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Aşkın Reyyan hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Halit Fahri Battal in the 19th minute of play forced Malatyaspor's goalkeeper Yusuf Ergökmen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Selçuk Şencan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sancar Uraltan in the 20th minute of play. Hüseyin Turan Hacıahmetoğlu struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Yusuf Ergökmen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cayyolu JK. Yusuf Ergökmen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hüseyin Turan Hacıahmetoğlu's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Hüseyin Turan Hacıahmetoğlu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Yusuf Ergökmen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Cayyolu JK's Hüseyin Turan Hacıahmetoğlu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Yusuf Ergökmen. That made the score 1-0 after 41 minutes of play. Selçuk Şencan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Namık Kemal Gençoğlu in the 48th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sancar Uraltan to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sancar Uraltan in the 55th minute of play forced Cayyolu JK's goalkeeper Selçuk Şencan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 56th minute Hüseyin Turan Hacıahmetoğlu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yusuf Ergökmen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Malatyaspor's Rahim Totuk got a free kick in the 57th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Aşkın Reyyan kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Selçuk Şencan. That made the score 1-1 in the 59 minute of play. Sancar Uraltan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Selçuk Şencan having to interfere. 69 minutes into the match, Sancar Uraltan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Selçuk Şencan. Cayyolu JK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sancar Uraltan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Halit Fahri Battal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yusuf Ergökmen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Namık Kemal Gençoğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Selçuk Şencan having to interfere. Sancar Uraltan struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Selçuk Şencan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malatyaspor.
